For sake of the durable topcoat that does not crack a bit more flexabel layer would be a good idea.
The industrial polyurethane finishes are not as hard as laquer. Still a major league of the guitars are finished with that. Maybe I worry to much about the subject. But if you have no absolute guidelines, I guess you have to go with general ideas and gut feeling.

Finished the filling of the body.
I still am positive about this plaster filling. I used shellac sanding sealer before and after. The wood has not been stained!. Great.
The sanding was really easy with even 400 grit. Very nice smooth surface IMHO.

"I use it before and after pore filling."

Do you all mean that vinyl sealer should be used before Z-Poxy?

I wonder the purpose since most of the Z-Poxy or other filler will be sanded away.

Sealer is only necessary if using a pore filler that is water based or one that has a dye or stain in it. The sealer helps prevent raising the grain or adding unwanted color.

There is no shellac to be found in our shop -- in my experience modern coatings are far superior and much more predictable.
