Cure time before buffing

Cure time before buffing
Coming close to finishing the french polish on my bass uke. I've been following the Robbie O'brien online class but I don't see anywhere that he gives a cure time before he hand rubs the finish to a gloss. Any suggestions? I know FP cures for years, so what is a good wait time?

I do believe that FP does not get buffed out like a lacquer coating --- the process at the end should leave a very high gloss. Perhaps I am not understanding the question?

I thought you did not buff FP as well. Most times, if you are proficient at it, you can get a high gloss just from the process. However, according to this website, you can buff it:

Just be sure you don't use anything with silicone in it.. :>) or you can't go back and repair any wear areas.

Watcing O'briens series, and this is all I have to go by, he does a quick buff by hand using some swirl remover. It is not necessary, but if I can get MORE shine, why not, right? He doesn't say that he waits any amount of time, but he does state that he has been working on the back continuously for about 1 1/2 hours. I'm guessing he didn't really wait for the little bit of buffing he did.
