top rim angle question

when using megamold does kerfing always go on first before shaping top angle?

Yessiree. That way whatever you do to the rim you do to the kerfing, they stay in sync.

The rim with blocks and kerfing is to be treated as a unit. So yes the kerfing needs to be installed, there is no reason or advantage to "fine" profile just the side material -- the top surface of the rim assembly is suposed to be flat sanded as described here:

I just finished sloping the rim top following my megamold instructions. Im pretty sure it went well. Now a question. When i set my 6 inch flat ruler on edge across the center of rim next to the neck block with the 3 in mark on center should that area be flat as well in that 6 inches? It is not at this time. there is a 64th rock end to end. iI hope the question is not confusing.

Personally, a 1/64" rock would trouble me not at all. It will not affect stability or playability nor will it be noticed visually.

1/4" would be a different story. Sounds like you've done a good job so far.

Take the very large sanding stick/block you made to level the rim and kerfing and gently rub it across the upper bout and the neck block in the questionable area. Seems you created a tiny dome. A couple of strokes and it will be sloped and perfectly flat do not change the angle. Pictures would be great when asking questions -- they are a real help to responders.
