I've been experimenting with poly gel topcoat. It's about as easy as it gets, and leaves a very nice finish - depending on my prep work, of course. I'm letting some cure now and once it is buffed I will post a pic or two.
Has anyone else had experience with this stuff? I'm liking it so far - thin coats, good protection, easy application.

Re: Gel topcoat
Blue shop towel, dip into the gel, lay it on the surface. Thick. Then wipe it off, with the grain, leaving it looking just a little 'wet'. Then re-apply (after a few hours more or less) - no sanding required between coats, it is self-leveling.

Re: Gel topcoat
Would you have to do the top and back at separate times? what about the sides? any dripping going on?

Re: Gel topcoat
Just before Lawrence-McFadden folded they sent me a sample can of their "wipe on gel finish" supplied to Martin for their Mexico operation. The can is labeled clear Polyurethane Satin Sheen. I am guessing Seagrave (new owner) still makes and sells this product?
