Boggles the mind
Boggles the mind
Today I read one of Kenny Hills article about French Polishing -- He said he usually spends three days finishing on a French polished guitar ------- But he has actually on more than one occasion completed the project, stung it up and had it on a plane to deliver in one day!!!

David Schramm, using Brian Burns' padding method, finished a guitar in 2 hours. I would think that a day or so to check for shrinkage would be appropriate.

Re: Boggles the mind
My FP is a 3 day affair. It is really fast if you cheat and pore fill with epoxy instead of shellac and pumice. I find that the shellac is still soft after 1 day. I have heard of guys mixing naptha in with alcohol as the solvent and the shellac dries faster.
