Drum Sander Grit

FOr those of you using a drum sander to thickness your soundboards and backs...what grit are you using? 120 or finer?

Life's too short --- we use 80 grit on our sanders. Rosewood and some others will clog 100 or 120 in a flash. Do the finer sanding with an RO. In the long haul you can't beat purchasing the best abrasive ---

Ditto Ken, I have 80 grit on mine. I take it down, and finish up with the RO. 80 grit will reduce spruce in a hurry.

Yup. 80 grit here too. If I had two drum sanders, I might put 120 on the second one, but since I don't, the only drum sander I own gets 80 and the RO gets various grits.

I use 80, then wrap with 120 and make a couple more runs, then hand sand starting at 150 (actually my hand sanding is now a Bosch variable RO sander).

EDIT: I should add I use different wraps for light and dark wood.
