Backstrip: Routing or sandwich between back plates?

Post by MarkAndrew1 » Tue May 14, 2013 12:53 pm

I read on another forum that some people sandwich their
backstrips between the 2 back plates rather than routing
it after.

Any opinions?

Depends on the inlay -- if it is thinner then .125" you have to route a channel. Other wise pinching it between the two halves is much easier -- the exception would be if the strip is very fragile, in that case a channel may work out best.

I sandwich mine but I only use Martin style zig-zag, checker and multi-color. I flood them with thin CA to strengthen them.
