I looked at the StewMac buffer and I’m sure it works beautifully but the sticker shock prevents me from taking the idea of buying one seriously. I’m going to be spraying nitro with a HVLP gun and would like to find a buffer that spins at around 800 rpm. Anyone care to share what they have? Should I buy a motor & arbor and build one? Any suggestion?

George,
Shop Fox makes a buffing arbor set up for about $105, all you need is to add the motor. Comes with an adjustable pulley. Check out Grizzly. Also some of the woodworking material sites sell them.

Re: Buffer?
Keep in mind this one is a complete kit. Arbor, motor, 6 buffing pads ($17 each), two blocks of polishing compound (although I have switched to Menzerna polish and like it a whole lot better), a buff rake and a bunch of sandpaper. If you start adding up stuff purchased individually and add in shipping this is a really good buy.Ben-Had wrote:I have this one and it works like a charm for me:
