Yes, Kevin. I've never gotten a handle on hot hide.
Thanks, Peter.

Oh! Oh! I love it! LOCAL LUMBER, wunnerful, wunnerful...

Outstanding craftsmanship and fixtures. Pine soundboard grain is pretty wide, but I think it'll work fine. I built my #7 with white pine, similar big grain. It was ladder braced so couldn't actually compare the pine top with my other guitars, all X braced, but it worked fine.

Please, please, PLEASE make a sound file when you get it played in. Acoustic, not plugged into an amp even though you will be able to.

Thank you for posting this.

I had the idea of installing the UTB to the sides before gluing the top on but have never tried it. I’ve never seen it done anywhere. How common is this method? Any pro’s and con’s?

It's the first time I've tried it. Seemed like a good idea since the UTB is flat and the sides have been sanded flat from neck end to soundhole after sanding the top edge in a 30' sanding dish. Also it was easier to ensure that the neck block extension/UTB joint was tight.

Exactly! Getting the neck block and UTB joint perfect seems easier that way too.

Nice progress Carl.
I've used the strapping tape too and it works really well. I'm out of it right now so I've still got some Stewmac binding tape to use up.

I just today started gluing BW purfling to EIR binding I cut from side scraps. I like this little guy you're building!!
