Ok, a lot of work has been done.
-a body mold
-a headstock template
-a top bending box ( heating lamp to be installed)
-two bracing cauls 7' and 12'.
A plate with a bended profile to glue the top on together, has to be made.

Re: Gypsy Guitar Selmer Style Oval Hole
This weekend I booked progress on the preparation work.
-I made the body mold square and smooth on the inside
-I thinned the sides to 0.08" and the top to 0.09"
The hemlock tailblock is 0.55" and rounded to accept the sides according to the mold's profile
The headplate is made of a triple veneer with ebony on top
The forming box for bending the top has its warming light attached
The mahogany neck block is little complicated one. The side of it that has to match the cutaway side. And that has a compound angle.
Looking from its top it has a 1.3 degree angle to match the taper of the fingerboard.
Looking from the front side it has a 5 degree angle to meet the heel, which has that taper too.
My band saw has the adjustment options to make that cut in one pass. But think twice and cut only one time. Ha!

Re: Gypsy Guitar Selmer Style Oval Hole
The sides:
I thinned them to 2mm/0.08" and the cutaway area down to 1.6mm/0.063". Scary thin.
First on the thickness sander and second with the scraper.
The sides were soaked in veneer softener and put in the bin to rest for an hour.
The difficult part: bending the cutaway. Difficult because the bends have a tiny radius and they are close to eachother.
In a bending machine probably far more accurate, but no fun or art.
A little too round curve in the cutaway, but it looks ok to me. A try to correct this will get me in other sorts of thouble. So this is what it will be. And in a finished guitar no one will notice. HA!
The other side was a piece of cake.
