Here's a headblock problem for you

Solid or Laminated sides? Ribbon lining style (kerfing) - rim profiling, contouring and the logic for those choices

The numbers sound ok to me. Either the new neck or the old neck with a little less of an angle. Are you worried how the fret board will extend over the 90 degree block? If that is the case put a wedge between the extension and the top to fill it.

Yeah, I think the wedge under the fb is the ticket.
