Looking good Tim.
My preferred method is to fret the board before gluing it to the neck. I basically follow the method In the KMG online manual.

After fretting, I do keep the fretboard weighted down and flat until I'm ready to glue it up. Works fine for me.

Thanks Dave, I am leaning in the direction of fretting it first.

wanted to share a few pics of my J185. Got the body filled, fretted the finger board, inlaid the headstock and glued on the finger board. Hope to get the neck glued on this weekend, now it is really starting to look like something. No the first and 12th fret didn't fall out, that is where I had the brads to keep it in place during the glue up. Any suggestions as to where to get a case would be appreciated, I went to the local guitar center and the best the young genius could come up with was a J200 case in which he suggested I stuff towels to take up the extra space. I wonder why I hate going in there?? Thanks to all for the help up to this point, I'm sure I would have wandered of the path if not for your kind assistance. Thanks again, Tim

I am a jeweler by trade so the inlay is by far the easiest part for me though coming up with a design can be difficult. I'll keep posting pictures. Thanks guys

Well then we expect to see diamonds, rubies and emeralds inlaid in your next guitar! :>)
