I thought about doing that on this dred I'm making...but wasn't sure about how it would hold up over time.
That is a nice looking bracing job for sure.

Nice work!

Side bar -- no need to tie the lower bout bracing into the Kerfing, actually just the opposite is the design trend for constructing more responsive guitars. KMG kit instructions illustrate notching the kerfing for locators not structure. There are no worries in that regard. Check it out -- not touching plus a thinning channel!

This and that with Kent in the shop this afternoon. He is loving him some chisels and planes. :-) We're having a ball.

Well it's been a long haul - Kent was gone for 9 weeks, I had a two-week period I was off, this and that, but we are back to it now, and well on the way to planning his next build.
He got the body all closed up and bound, looking very nice, then we sanded the body and did about a 70% pore fill using Zinsser sealcoat; then rubbed all the surface shellac off with steel wool; now Kent has put on 4 coats of tru-oil. A few more coats will finish the pore fill, then another 10 or 12 and he'll be done. We'll set it aside for a week or two then buff it out a bit, depending on how much shine he wants.
