Well I have arrived at what is just about the last stop on this trip and was hoping I could get some input from the group. I have never owned an acoustic guitar so I need some general info regarding strings and more importantly, some measurements for the set up. I put a set of D'Addario medium phosphor bronze on to set it up, good, bad, OK?? I did tune it up to pitch and nothing flew off, no creaks or pops, neck remained remarkably straight, and the biggest relief was when I did a quick check of the intonation and found it surprisingly close, my Peterson tuner says REAL close!! I have the string slots cut in the nut but not to depth and have done nothing to the saddle yet. If I could get measurements from the top of the first fret to the 1st and 6th string as well as measurements at the 12th fret for both of those string that would be a great help. The guitar sounds great but with me knowing nothing of acoustic guitars it could just as easily sound like crap to someone with more knowledge (ha ha). I have a friend with a Martin and a Taylor so I'll do a side by side test when I get it all dialed in but to me it sounds great though I may be a slight bit biased. What a thrill it was putting on the strings and hearing the first notes come out of this creation. Thanks again to the kindness of the forum members for all of the information, encouragement and the willingness to share their knowledge, I very much appreciate it. I'll let you know how the side by side comparison with the "real" guitars goes. All the best, Tim
