Well,

I got my neck correct. I reset the bridge. Now she plays correctly. The action is lower than turtle's belly. Now I just need to get some compound. I wanted to buy the Menzerna, but wow 117 shipped. I don't know if I would use that much in 5 years. There is a site that sells half bars for 15 dollars but the shipping from Canada is 25.00. If anyone wants go in half PM me. I could never use that much compound in a year.

Maybe to Ken it would be less expensive in Michigan.

I drilled out the small hole in the Martin Block. I am not sure what that is for. But It would be a much easier way to steam off. I was thinking of putting a small countersunk screw in there an putty over it just for some added insurance on my DT joint. I see where other folks in other forums have done the same when troubles with the "Joint from hell"

I played two instruments yesterday. A 1946 Martin D-28 Brz. It was beat to hell. I can't believe GC would sell it for 5K. I looked like it had been in a bar fight and glued back together. LITERALLY! It sounded VERY VERY hollow with no bass.

I also played The CEO 7. I fell in love with that little one. I think I will build that shape with my Ziri. The smaller body size would give me some extra wood for a headstock overlay.

I will post my final photos of my dread in the finished section after she if buffed and compounded.

Thanks for all the support you guys give! Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Regards,

Well,

I got her buffed out. I used a DA for a buffer. I thought the results were ok, but then I rebuffed it with an air die grinder and a 3 inch cotton wheel. I had a pack of them, and I was happy. Zero swirl marks. I could have saved 80 bucks on the HF buffer. An arbor buffer is definitely in order if I keep this hobby.

This is a clip of my blues teacher playing some ragtime style.

No one likes these Monel strings. I love the cosmetics of them. they kind of tone down the new Adi top. I will change Marquis the next string change.

Thanks for looking,
