Thanks fellers. I rather enjoyed the inlay work. For the fretboard, I marked the locations of the diamonds, and used a drop of glue to hold them in place while I scribed around them with an exacto knife. I rubbed some chalk into the line so I could see it a little better, and used my chisel vertically to define the edges a little more. I made a little jig to hold the fretboard in place and act as a carrier for the router. I used my colt router with a 1/16" straight bit to clean out the wood, and a small chisel for some cleanup.
The holes were certainly not perfect, but some glue and wood dust fills in the gaps nicely.

The headstock is really eye-catching. It looks like a wild animal (dog?) is coming out of it.

I used the french walnut veneer in a couple of other locations.
