Yeah, that's some of that sweet Michigan walnut in the 'experiential' kit.
I was talking to Eric about flooring and he mentioned that everyone wants the #1 flooring - completely straight grain, no knots or other 'flaws' but in fact the #2 flooring - some knots, swirlier grain, in other words, character - and less $ - actually makes a more attractive and interesting floor.
This walnut has some little pin knots - bookmatched! - and other things that catch the eye and are in fact, to me, more interesting than the perfect, 'premium' wood - which can also be gorgeous, don't get me wrong.

Two more thin coats of TO - subtle differences from this point. It's starting to build now. We do level between each coat.
