Hi Jeremy,
Nothing special happened to the Padouk of this guitar. I filled the (large) pores 3 times with Z-Poxy, and sealed that with shellac. And the finish is just clear nitro.
The guitars I made with Padouk were all stunning bright red/orange in the beginning. But over time a brownish hue came over them. I think you cannot avoid that, but the wood is still beautiful though. Here you find some other pictures:

BTW: you might think I manipulated the colors of the pictures, but I did not. The Padouk was as flashy as it is shown.
