Doming thin wood?

General woodworking question - I want to put a slight dome on a cirle of thin wood. See diagram for general idea.
The wood strip is about 3/8" wide, and I want the final height to be about .080"

This is a one-off experiment. Any idears?

For my backstrips I took a small block of wood and sand a concave radius into it log wise. I then pushed sticky sandpaper on to the block and sand the radius along the strip.

The other option is to take a small plane and cut the top corners at like a 45 degree angle and then plane the corners of the created facets and then smooth out the transitions with a small sanding block.

Thanks - That's also the way I do backstrips; the problem here is that the wood is shaped like a large wooden rosette, in the shape of a ring. To sand or scrape it evenly while working around the radius has proved to be difficult.

Drill a hole in a scraper about 17/32" or 1/2 but make it a little bigger. Find on the hole where it is 3/8" across score a line and cut the scraper on that line. Clean it all up with a chisel, also use a chisel to set a burr on the arc and use your new custom designed tool to scrape your ring to shape.

That's an idea I had in the back of my mind but wasn't sure how to go about it - you've nailed it, I think. Getting the burr will be the key.

You should be able to use a rounded fine mill file. Just the file should give you the edge you need, you probably do not need to draw and turn the burr.
