No John, I feel this cutaway (and others) does not interfere with a guitar's sound. Well, IMHO.

Love that cutaway and it seems it would be much easier to built than the other types.

To be honest, it is not my favorite cutaway. To me it looks a bit amputated. But the customer wanted it, and he is king.
As for difficulty, it's about the same work as a florentine cutaway.

The guitar sounds great. It is fun to get recording like the ones that you have where the guitar can demonstrate its voice.
