The way I bend the blanket texture wouldn't matter because it is on the outside of the "sandwich." My sandwich is from bottom to top: slat, brown paper, side, brown paper, slat, heating blanket. I heat the sides to 220* then end the lower out, bend the upper bout at 270*, bend the waist at 300*, take the heat up to 375* then switch my controller to variable electric pulse and turn the setting down to 220*. Within approximately 1-15 minutes it should be close to 220* at which time I turn the unit off and let it cool to room temp in the form.
edit PS - I have NEVER cracked a side while bending with this method.
I'm going to use my bending heat blanket for the first time.

Thank you Kevin, Peter and Tim for the responses. I've seen the Keenovo blankets on Ebay but I've been burned once and am leary about going that way again.
I do think I'll try the blanket on the outside of the sandwich but I'm wondering if the cauls would have a tendency to not slide over the silicone blanket. My cauls are not a roller type but it would be easy to make a set with rollers.

Mine are not rollers either but they are dowels.

I have been very happy with my Keenovo blanket. I ordered through Aliexpress with the expedited shipping and received it within a few days with out issue. I have not had any issue with other things that I have ordered through Aliexpress.

Jim, I looked into the Aliexpress route yesterday and tried to place an order. The order was immediately cancelled "due to security issues".
I wrote to Johnny Tang at Keenovo and they apprently have no control over Aliexpress. He advised "Try again, use another card."
So I did that today and guess what??? Same problem. Strike two
I am now still looking into using another source.
Thanks for your suggestion however.

Kevin, Yes I actually started my hunt there but like always I delayed ordering due to my OCD taking over and had to research it till the cows came home.
Thanks for the suggestion.
