Epoxy Pore Filling

Post by Eric_K » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:58 am

For those of you who fill with epoxy. Do you pore fill the top of the guitar with it?

The reason that I'm asking is that I'm going to try a UV cure pore filler and was wondering. Up until now I've always use a thinned version of the final finish and sanded back.

Thanks,

Eric

I do not pore fill the top mainly because spruce, cedar and red wood do not need to be pored filled. I suppose if I had a Koa top I might pore fill.

Ditto what John said

But please explain -- how are you going to "try" a UV pore filler. A UV application and cure system is a big deal, is there something new on the market?

Solarez makes an UV cure system that cures under a UY flashlight or sunlight
