Hello forum Members,
I am a newbie at guitar building and am new to this forum. This is my first post here so please bear with my inexperience. I am in the process of making my first acoustic 6 string. Black Walnut for the back and sides, Sitka for the tone wood and ebony finger board. I think I've included three images of a nice piece of maple that I have had for about 20 years. in case the images do not show up, the maple is just at 2 inches thick, 8" wide and roughly 7.5' long.
With these dimensions and the grain direction I would like to ask any and all that read this, what would you do or how you would proceed using this piece of maple for a nice neck?
Could I safely cut two neck blanks from this piece of maple ( I'm thinking a mirror image pair running lengthwise) then laminate it together with a dark stripe of walnut. Doing it that way i would have enough width. I would like to know if I should consider making the neck with a scarfed peg head or possibly cutting it out like you might from a single block? What method might you suggest to use this maple for best possible strength, and for best looks too?
Thank you in advance,
Kim
There are ton of other questions I have but one at a time

Re: Needing Advice-My first Acoustic Neck
Ken, I'm dealing with "I don't know what I'm doing yet."
Is there a "how to post pictures/or a walk me through this" section that I should read?
Also is there a size limit to the photo that I can use? Kb or Mb
My photos are located on line at my Google photos area.
Here is what I did... I opened the photo and copied the https: link of the photo. i.e. https://photos.google.com/ etc... Then went back to the forum and started a new Subject, clicked the Img button, pasted the copied link and submitted.
Should I have clicked the URL button instead of the Img button to paste the link into?
Possibly my photos are too large?
Updated... I edited the Img to URL and now I can see the links showing up... but can I or should I be able to have the pictures come up when someone opens the Post. How does one do that?
Also I'm curious about Attachments and their use/benefit/purpose/restrictions etc... Aren't newbies just a pain.
Thank you for the quick response.

Re: Needing Advice-My first Acoustic Neck
Thank you for the link. It appears that my original attempt to post the picture links are now working. Please let me know what you would recommend regarding the neck build from the maple. Thanks kindly.
