Black & Decker 76-234 'deluxe router guide'?
Does anyone know whether this accessory is rigid and precise enough to use for cutting rosette channels? General layout is similar to scratchbuilt guides, and it comes out of the box ready to mount a router. Nice time saver, if it works.

Pretty sure that accessory is for a full size router -- which is not a good choice for routing rosette channels. I believe guitar makers, amateurs and pro's alike engage in tool "precision" one-upsmanship.
Certainly necessary if working on Indy race car engines. But for this operation the most simple tools will work fine, just take the time to have a side by side test piece to check your adjustments and all will be good.

Thanks, Ken. I'll look at it carefully. I'm usually in the mode of tool sufficiency, not gratuitous complexity and specialization and expense. This one was cheap enough to get my interest piqued.
