ca or duco

Post by Jon Heimbruch » Wed Jan 13, 2016 3:29 am

I am ready to install my first abalone rosette. I know how to accomplish the task with either ca or duco but as a first timer I could use some advice from anyone that is more familiar than me. The question then is do use the ca dropfill method or the Duco method. Thanks all. Jon

If you use ca seal the channel. I use shellac. CA can wick into the end grain and stain some tops.

Thanks John. Do you know if lacquer can be applied instead of shellac?

I remember Ken has suggested lacquer as a sealer. I have not used lacquer.
