I have a fretboard slotting jig from Ken's design. Works wonderfully. Slotted two fretboards with it I encourage anybody who sees this to not try to reinvent the wheel, but to purchase Ken's templates and build a jig off his drawings.

Thank you Dave and Peter --

I totally respect Jim's motivation to do his own thing -- the design he is using has been around for a long time, it uses the fret board slots of a pre-made board for the template.

One of the advancements I made with the KMG design is to have a "pallet/sled" to carry the blank. The blank is actually positively located and screwed to the sled not taped -- It's my opinion that the "tape to the template" aspect is not very professional or repeatable. I use the same locators for the CNC machining of the contour radius. Someday when I get a second I plan to convert to vacuum for both processes.

+1 on kens fixture, built one with his templates works great!!
