Actually, after looking at that box-type jig, it's fairly straight forward. In fact the process itself looks very doable even for someone at my level.

The sides of the beak are angled 8 degrees -- that block is used to tilt the neck blank for the band saw cut. Flipped end to end for the second cut. The raised piece is a key that fits into the truss rod slot to help keep the beak centered and symmetrical.
