WOW. That is awesome work Herman. I asked for it, and you are really showing us how to get it done.
Nice.

I'm glad you like it. The recipe, for me, is think twice and go slow. And do no be affraight to repair what you f.... up. For that, I'll show you what happened on the neckside of the cutaway.
Re: Florentine Cutaway
The "Dangs" and "Wows" do please me. But mortal as I am, as most of us, I do make mistakes. Here is the other side of the cutaway:
The binding on the neckside was bent over too much during glueing. Consequence was that the vertical line, up to the fingerboard, of the side was interrupted by this angled binding.
First I was upset by my mistake and decided that I should sand the side flush with this binding error. But somewhere in the middle of the night I figured out that I could loosen up the binding with heat and bend it vertically. So I took out my soldering iron and a wet cloth. Steam it for a minute or so made the glue weaken. And I was able to straighten things.
This is the situation after. The binding is vertical. Not very cute with the purfling, but as I wrote before, the area will be covered by the fingerboard. Once again I got away with it.
