BTW, I think I read the other comments wrong and my post was confusing. The tail block is a Martin radius and the lower bout on MINE is rounder. What I was trying to say was the Gibson is flatter but I don't think it came out that way. So you guys were right on the money - GOOD EYES!

Yep -- that is exactly what I noticed, the J45 has a flat spot we do not machine any contour on the tail blocks.

Profiled the headstock and put on the ebony headplate today. I cut the excess off on the band saw and profiled it with the Robo Sander.

I have tired a zillion times to make a headstock outline that is "personal". All of them have fallen short of the standard, plain, logical, and quite elegant traditional functional design. This looks very good.

I thought the advanced jumbo had a slightly smaller body than a J-45 but i maybe be wrong. This one looks very nice, slim waist and large round bottom - very pleasing to the eye.

I have been playing with a distinctive headstock design for my brand for over two years. I started at the same time I started on my headstock logo and still haven't come up with one yet that says to me "THAT' S IT."

This guitar is a hybrid in that the owner wanted some things Martin and some things Gibson.
