Acoustic Guitar Construction

This guitar has taken me awhile to complete looking back on my build log I started in April I finished it Dec 21th 2011.

This is a more modern Martin O sized guitar based on the templates from Waldrons Instruments Inc. This guitar is my second completely from scratch guitar but it is the first guitar built in my shop at home. This is also the first slotted neck that I made.

Sinker Redwood for the top and quilted spanish cedar for the backs and sides.
Ebony bindings, fretboard headstock, veneer and bridge.
I have Martin M-540 Phosphor Bronze Light guitar strings.

First in family picture with all of my acoustic guitars that I have made. This is my first guitar leaving home.

Thanks guys here is the information for each guitar in the family picture. The center guitar is the one shown above .


The classical guitar on the far right is the first guitar I finished. It is a EIR\Englemann Spruce LMI kit. French polish with traditional pumice\shellac pore fill.




The second guitar I finished was a John Hall BRW D28 Kit, I swapped the binding out to curly maple from the kit. Zpoxy\shellac\KTM-SV French polished top.






The guitar on the far left is a Hawiian Koa\Western red cedar from scratch parlor guitar. Built with Rick Davis of Running Dog Guitars as part of a class. Zpoxy fill\Shellac and Color Tone water based lacquer





The classical guitar between the 2 parlor guitars is all an EIR\Englemann Spruce LMI kit. This guitar fell off the bench when I was glueing on the fretboard so I had to remove and build a new back for it. French polish on Zpoxy pore fill.
