Source for adhesive-backed sandpaper roll

Post by peter havriluk » Sat Nov 03, 2012 10:46 am

Folks,

Does anyone know of a source for adhesive-backed sandpaper rolls in less than industrial sizes? Luthier suppliers offer it but in sizes I'll never use up and I don't feel comfortable dropping a hundred bucks on four rolls (four grits) of the stuff so's I can blocksand fingerboards.

Thanks very much.

I've had great service from Klingspor. 10 meter rolls in the narrower widths (2-1/2", 2-3/4") usually run about ten dollars each.
(By the way, 10 meters is 32.8 feet.)

Here's a link to their online store: http://www.woodworkingshop.com/category ... 2=ADHESIVE
Always have plenty of sandpaper; it's rough out there!

I think a good way to back up sand paper is to put duck tape behind it. In others words stick the duck tape to it from behind. It makes it real durable. I also was thinking today cuz im waitin for glue to dry that I am goin to try a piece of stick on felt to the back of the piece of the paper. Just sayin. Gonna try that. tonight.
