Acoustic Guitar Construction

I'm looking for coil wire of the type used in inner springs. I'm going to try using it for top and back clamping during glue-up. Online sites have huge menus of wire sizes and types and I am lost in all that detail - what do you think I'm looking for in the way of diameter and material?
