Are you using a screw down fretboard extension system?

If you are using some type of system for screwing/bolting down the fretboard extension, would you be willing to share your system here?
I want to start doing this on my next build and I'm sure many would be interested in what you are doing.

Thanks.

Kevin

#8-32 flat head screws, file a couple flat spots on the head so it will never spin -- coutersink holes in the FB, use epoxy to secure the screw heads -- add a hardwood reinforcement plate so the washer and nylon insert lock nut does not compress the soft sound-board wood -- pretty simple and effective. I have many KMG kit guitars with no fasteners which I monitor for quality issues, some eight years old now -- none have problems with the extension lifting as a matter of fact aging seems to increase the compression and makes the extension even tighter. So what I am saying is I do not use fasteners

Pendan showed his version of an adjustable neck joint similar to the Taylor neck joint and I think he used a bolt on FB extension. Hopefully he will weigh in and share his experience and knowledge.

I use a bolt on neck but no screws to hold the Fb extension down. It's glued to an extension of the neck. No hump - ever!

I've never had a hump, but on some of the guitars it takes a little bit of pressure and glue to hold it down. On two, the fretboard lays flat and tight. I guess I got it just right on those two and on the others not quite.

I am with you Kevin -- I don't think this has anything to do with a hump (that would be a neck set issue) but rather an appearance feature and honestly I have not dismissed the hold down idea -- I do believe there my be some value.

What about a cantilever neck? We've all read of their supposed advantages, do you think there are any real ones?
Does anyone here have a tutorial or a link to one that might 'splain it?
