The Woodcraft Store house brand CA "Stick Fast" is a pretty good value 2.5 oz for $7.99 other brands are about $11 for 2 oz.
tested 10/16/2012 and found to not work like the other brands ---- see below

Ken, do you know viscosity on this one?
Still looking for a glue to seal up the crack on that cocobolo set I was asking about in the other thread.
Someone suggested "hot stuff"?

A handful of companies in the USA make almost all the wood working CA, one brand is no bettter then another -- Check with Woodcraft I am sure they have thin medium and thick available.

Oh and Robert the idea that you can fill a wide split along the grain with anything other than with a splinter of new wood is bad advice. I think I mentioned that previously -- I don't make the wood vs humidity rules "mother nature" does.

Thanks for the heads-up on CA brands in general. Just never used the stuff for much besides maybe fixing a busted coffee cup handle, etc., so yeah, I'm pretty much a dummy when it comes to specifically using it to repair wood. Just learned only recently that there are different viscosities of it!

Once again I have to make an apology for a recommending a product. I opened the bottle yesterday and it turns out to be almost useless "Stick Fast" Woodcraft CA Buyer be aware. It works nothing like Jet, Bob Smith, Great Planes or Hot Stuff and there is nothing instant about it!! Without spraying an accelerator I am not sure it would ever dry – what a disappointment. After I finish this post a complaint letter will be going off to Woodcraft.
Update here's the response from Woodcraft:
Hi Ken,
My name is Kent Harpool. I’m the “Glue Guy”…..or rather I’m the one responsible for glues. I am sorry to hear of your experience. Without knowing exactly what you bought, I can tell you the Stickfast Product on the shelf in Toledo was designed to be a CA finish for small turnings. It has a longer open time and has an additive in it the makes more flexible to better resist shock. It does act differently than normal CA.
It can be used as a glue (I use it that way as I have a need for those properties) but it wasn’t designed as such.
Since your experience is atypical, It does bear further investigation. In the meantime, I’d be happy to replace
your product Sat City or InstantBond. I just need some info and our customer service folks we’ll take care of it
We appreciate your business and the time you took to bring this to our attention. My contact info is below…feel free to to use it.
Thanks
Kent
