metric drill bits?

I understand that guitar tuners typically need a 10mm hole so that the tuner can mount to the headstock while not allowing excess motion of the tuner shaft. Depending on the tuners selected, is it necessary to use other metric drill bits to prepare tuner mounting holes in a guitar headstock?
Reason I'm asking is that vendors offer a 10mm drill bit all by itself for ten bucks or a different source can provide a stepped set of brad point metric drill bits for twenty bucks. I'm enough of a tool freak to want to buy the set, but I'm curious to understand whether I'd be using other metric bits on a guitar project, but I can't imagine where, right now.
Thanks, folks.
