This was a kit from KMG. EIR/Sitka.
Before finishing it, the buyer wanted it to do some artwork on, in memory of her recently deceased father. She is an outstanding artist but I have no idea what it will look like when she returns for me to finish it. So I thought I'd best post what pix I have now.

Re: First Ditson
Dave,
Nice work! A D-12 in Rosewood - should project like canon! What are your impressions so far? I am in the process of building two of this model. I stopped by Ken's and picked up the template a few days ago. One will be Cherry and one figured Black Walnut. I had the wood already and figured it would not take much time to build two instead of one. Not sure what I'm going to do with them when they're done. I've already got too many (six in total) and I don't play all that much. My question is what dimensions did you work to relative the Tail and Neck? There looks to be a lot of taper from tail to neck. I'll use Ken's side pattern when I bend but I'm in the process of making the Neck and Tail Blocks.
I noticed that you are using a vacuum press. I'll try and post some pictures of the "Beam Clamp" I made that makes Brace gluing a breeze. It was made from scrap and a few bolts. Obviously I glue one brace at a time, but with a 30 minute clamp time it does'nt take long to brace the Top & Back. It gives you a lot of control on placement and excellent clamping pressure. I think it's fairly full proof. I put this up on the KGBF but it received no interest. Every one seems to be stuck on go-bar systems, something I can't figure out! Both Ken and I are Manufacturing Engineers by profession and always look for the most robust & simple processes. This is one of them.
Thanks,
DaveH

Re: First Ditson
DaveH - Two Ditsons? I'm envious - gotta raise a few $ before I can even order another kit. I've really enjoyed the two D's I've built. The second one, with the cutaway, I'm hoping to sell to a friend who is watching me build it.
Please post your beam clamp. I'm always interested in seeing new methods.
The side profiles were just as Ken Cierp provided them.

I'm going to have to save up some money to build one of those in cutaway form.

Re: First Ditson
The artiste is finally beginning her work on this. I cannot wait to get it back and finished up. In the meantime she took one of my other projects and did something with it that I asked her to; she just emailed the pic. I will get it tomorrow and do the set-up etc. I will post that pic now under a new post - 'Tami's 000'
