It's Done - KMG J-185

Post by Dennis in Anola » Mon Aug 20, 2012 11:57 am

Completed the initial setup yesterday. It went relatively easy following Ken's instructions. The action is a tad high because I didn't sand the saddle down to the pencil line I made from the fret board end. I'll take care of that small detail when I put on a second set of strings. I'll also look after compensating the saddle then. It sounds wonderful to me and it certainly has incredible sustain and very good clarity to my ears. I'm going to really enjoy learning to play this instrument. Thanks to everyone for putting up with me.

Its a beauty! So are you going to take orders since every body you know will want one?

I took Rosie out on Saturday night to a retirement part for one of the guys I jam with. Everyone was impressed with her even though She didn't have strings on her - I just ran out of time. This Friday will be her musical debut during our weekly jam. I decided to put a new set of strings on her and complete the action setup beforehand. I didn't want anyone to complain about sore fingers (lol).

Ken, my wife says she needs a new deck before I need another guitar. What she doesn't know, it's too hard to build a deck during the winter (the snow's too deep). So, another instrument may soon be in the cards, especailly after my son gets to play this one.
