Fabricating a laminated neck blank

Post by peter havriluk » Wed Aug 15, 2012 6:25 pm

Is it possible that someone might walk me through the process of

(1) getting from a 1x3 'neck blank' to an uncarved neck with a peghead, heel, mortise&tenon joint prepared, and truss rod channel routed out, more or less ready to shape into a neck
and
(2) what to do, and what not to do, to use that 1x3 neck blank to make a laminated neck with contrasting center wood and veneers between the three (?) pieces.

Or point me to a photo essay that covers the topic?

Thanks very much

Not too difficult, make sure the 1x3 is a full 1x3 not nominal. This is as good as any:

Thanks very much. This helps me visualize the process quite a bit.
