Almost Done

Post by Tim Benware » Mon Aug 13, 2012 4:32 pm

2 OM's - both B/S of EIR, 1 Adi top and 1 Sinker Redwood top. 6 days to cure and then level with 800 grit, wet sand 1000 & 1200, then to the buffing wheel with med and fine polish. These were done with Target Coatings Em1000 sanding sealer and EM6000 gloss WB lacquer. My first 2 with WB so it will be interesting to see how they finish out.

OK, this one is done. Sinker Redwood top, EIR B/S, Mahogany neck, Zebrawood bindings, end wedge, end cap, zigzag back-strip, Abalone/Rosewood Rosette, Ebony FB and bridge, bone nut and saddle. Now you guys know why I don't post more pic. More photography suck but I'm working on it. This guitar looks much better in person and the colors are quite a bit darker and richer in color.

Those are some nice looking instruments, Tim.
I get a little discouraged with my photography 'skills' also.

OK, here's the next one. This was the first time I built 2 at one time. They came out just a couple days apart. Tried to show the gloss but only really got it in the back shot where you can see me taking the picture (I'm amazed it fit in it:)) I tried something different on this one (for me anyway) I put the end wedge in narrow side up. The woods are Adirondack (w/slight bear-clawing), EIR and mahogany neck. I used the Adi for the end wedge and heel cap. The headstock inlay is a cladagh (gold MOP to match the gold MOP dots). And finally it has a K&K pure mini pickup.
