RC Aircraft Ply

This is probably been discussed.
Why isn't the lightweight plywood used in RC aircraft construction used for the back reinforcement and the bridge plate?

Doesn't work?

No plywood in my guitar!!!!!

It seems to be the ideal solution for the back seam. Stronger than the crossgrain spruce.

I am sure it would work just fine -- However, I kinda like the look of the cross grain back seam material.
