Fret slot fixture and template

I got plans for this from Ken Cierp - you can contact him about it.

It's an easy project, done in my case with odds and ends laying around the shop. I did purchase the toggle clamps at HF for $5 apiece, and the template from Ken - not expensive. The saw from LMII was the big expense but will last a long time for $25.

If you follow Ken's instructions you will have a lifetime jig, solid and very well thought out.

I took the pic before I attached the shim that regulates the depth of cut, but that is a very easy thing to do.

(Credit where due, the bending machine is from John Hall.)

That is the wrong saw in the picture. Should have been the smaller one in this pic.

Good job Dave, looks like it should work. Did Ken make the template for you?
Isn't it great when you can make a jig like this yourself, for pretty cheap, and it works???

Yep, Ken sells the templates.

The build is easy = BUT there is more to it than meets the eye, and it is a rock solid tool.

Well it does NOT look as good as the original, but it works just the same. :-)
I just put on the stop blocks and the shim.
