Tuner template alignment

Post by osgoor » Wed May 16, 2012 4:44 pm

I am looking at the layout for my tuners using Ken's template supplied with the success kit and am not sure of the placement of the template on the veneer. It can be placed even with the top of the head stock or closer to the nut. Are there specific measurements as to where this template should be located?

Thanks

Regarding tuner placement -- the main thing to note with the Martin paddle type head-stock edge angle is that the center tuner on both sides is indented a tiny bit to provide string clearance around the "E" string posts. So align the template to the top and each edge separately and you'll be fine.
