Pore filling mahogany necks

Guys,
Do you like to use a colored pore filler when filling the mahogany neck, and if so do you try and match the hog, or do you go darker, and what shade. I've always done clear, but I'm thinking to try something different.

I just used a rosewood colored filler on a mahogany neck in my Black Limba thread here:

I saw a picture of a mahogany neck with dark pores and assumed this was how the guy did it...dark filler. So I tried it out on a small spot and it worked so I did the whole neck. I used TimberMate filler by the way. Very easy to use. Odd smell though. Sort of a petroleum product type of smell. My wife threw me out of the house when I was trying to pore fill on the couch. Not sure which part upset her more...using a dark grain filler on the couch or the smell. Probably both. Anyway, I am very happy with the results.
What do you think? Is this what you are after?

Yeah, I think so. I have the Timbermate in about 4 colors, rosewood and walnut, etc., but haven't used it yet other then on some test wood.
I might try the walnut, since the guitar is walnut, on a scrap piece and see how it looks.. I have some dark spots in the pores now (not real bad, but there) which might be some ebony dust that got in there. I couldn't wipe it or blow it out, so I thought I might try filling to cover, blend in.

Sealer -- followed by "Pore o Pac" Walnut. Yes -- I believe the filler should match the natural darker color of the pores.

I use a clear epoxy with silica. This helps give the wood some depth to it under a finish, which I truly enjoy. I usually used the system 3 pore filler from West Systems, same epoxy used for boat building, but I also have had great success with small batch epoxies with 60 minute drying time or longer. The shorter drying time epoxies set up too quickly lay on the wood without having to rush things.
