Many thanks to Kyle B for picking up this planer for me (can't thank you enough Kyle). I tested it out for the first time tonight and it is AWESOME!!!!!!

I will say to keep downward pressure on both sides of any thin material like a side (going in and coming out) - it can flex that material and you'll get an edge that digs in. Happened on my first - Robbie O'Brien said 'that's why we plane the inside face' - of course I had flipped the side and was planing the outside! Doh!

Tim glad you are happy with it. They can really come in handy on occasion.

I have two sets of some aged Adirondack Spruce tops measuring .185. I plan to take them down over the next couple weeks and finish them off on my thickness sander. I have enlisted the help of one of my 3 sons to provide the "hold down" help for me.

I have one as well, well, it is one of the knock offs, but I bought it a couple of years ago and just started using it. I still have to build a little table with fence to go over my drill press table, but for now I've just clamped boards in place. I've used it to thickness the back of my headstocks and to thickness short pieces of wood I use for rosettes that are too short for the thickness sander.
It makes a mess, but works quite well and I know I will use it more in the future, especially if I do some resawing and want to take the bulk of excess material away before feeding backs and sides through the thickness sander.

That is pretty much what I have, and it works great. I can't compare it to the Wagner because I don't have on of those, but these copy kats are the only ones available now, so for the money, go for it.
