Finally HD28 #3

Post by Eric_K » Sat Mar 17, 2012 7:43 am

All finished and presented to my instructor.
This was a fun one. I didn't want to do the burst but I think that it came out well.

There should be some You-Tube videos of it in the future.

Rosewood Body
Englemann Spruce Top
Maple Binding
Curly Koa headstock and heel caps
Ebony bridge and pins.

Thanks for the support everyone!!!

Ken:

That's the kit that we spent two Saturdays ago struggling over the neck fit.
The saddle is minimal, but the string height at the 12th fret is .09 on #6.
I had to make two nuts.

I broke down and bought a StewMac nut file for the #5 and #6 strings and it made life much easier.

Congratulations on #3! Great looking guitar. The burst looks good on the guitar. Nice overall finish job as well.

Excellent! I assumed that the neck set problem was resolved I was not sure this was the same instrument -- I really do like the burst. If you get a chance how about posting your process in the finishing section I bet some members would like to see it.
