Here's a video showing the Ramirez method with lots of explanation. I had contacted Peter Oberg about the method and he asked why didn't I just youtube him? Duh. Anyway, a decent, helpful chap who makes gorgeous instruments.

I really liked his mold. It looks bent or formed.

Yeah I noticed that too. Hinged on both sides of the waist, I think. Got any ideas on how that is made?

Is it hinged or just reinforced?

Hinged did not make sense to me, so I was just assuming it was reinforced.

This is a unique way of doing this. I wouldn't have thought of doing it this way. Spring clamps like this were used and still are for clamping things like frames for paintings and boxes. Thanks for posting this link...Mike
