My wife as been repairing (mostly me) her childhood doll house her grandfather made. I grabbed some scrap Koa and a bit of cocobolo and made custom doors for as a Christmas gift

Scrap does not excist indeed, until there is too much of it and you are about to break your neck over it.
Then it is time for a little bonfire. HA!
Sometimes I take the most precious parts to an old shop where they restore antique furniture.
They seem to be happy with the scraps. This what they do (very difficult and well done, but soooo ugly IMO):
