Anyone made a slide guitar?

Post by Herman » Sun Oct 13, 2024 6:04 am

My attention was taken by a video of a Weissenborn guitar that was played in a great way. Now my thoughts are about making a slide guitar (sorry, no uggely Weissenborn). And thinking about learning slide playing.
So questions: Did one of you ever made one, and what were your preferences?
Thanks

I am interested and have played one made by a Seattle area luthier. Are you looking for a lap guitar? If not I wonder if you bump the action up on one of your guitars and get some slides you have what you need to start learning. I will be interested in what you find and do. The guitar I tried to play was a lap guitar.

Yes John, I'm thinking about a square neck lap guitar with a reinforced top for heavy strings. Not a plan yet, just contemplating. :D
