I have always loved the 000-12 fret. I own a Martin 000-28 12 fret from a limited run in 1996. What a sweet instrument. I thought it was time I built one. I am also wanting to try some new things. I'm using a torrefied spruce top with Indian laurel back and sides, Adarondack bracing and fish glue with long clamp times where the top is concerned. The indian laurel is dense but I think will be a great tone wood and should finish great.
This is how I have made my last three molds now. 1 1/2 poplar and 1/4 birch plywood. It is light and strong enough.

I have had to repair some braces on Gibson and Martin that just weren't glued well. I like to see some glue squeeze out!

Nice, I am just starting to close up a 12 fret 00.

I really like your mold. I can't help but think it was difficult to align though. The savings in materials at todays prices make this look like a good option if I ever stray from the almighty dreadnought.
