If you use a blanket that is longer than the mold and metal slats, does the excess length of the blanket not in the mold need some sort of heat sink?
Is thermal run away a legitimate concern?

Hi there. Sorry, I do not use such blankets, so I cannot help you out.

But this is very low profile friendly forum and we are used to respond to members with a real name.
So writing to a "tree" ;) (no pun intended) is awkward to the others. So please write under you first name.
It feels better. Let us know.

Sorry again. I may be a bit blunt. But I am Dutch, I cannot help it.

I have parts of the blanket longer than the mold all of the time. It looks like the controller being used has a thermal couple that will control the temperature. I use a raw thermocouple and place it between the wood and the blanket. I have found the blankets heat evenly on the wood or not. No thermal runaway.
